Traffic Broadcasting Business

Traffic Broadcasting business is one of the most important business areas for the Road Traffic Authority. We operate 10 FM broadcasting centers nation-wide. We provide regionally customized quick and accurate traffic information as well as traffic safety campaigns to help prevent traffic accidents and to guide us towards an advanced traffic environment and culture.

Production Direction and Strategy
- Quick and accurate traffic and weather information to prevent accidents
- Traffic safety and traffic order related promotions to establish a safer traffic environment
- Daily Life information for the listeners’ knowledge and enjoyment
- Prevention program for natural disasters and accidents

  • 10 Regional Broadcasting Centers (Busan, Kwangju, Daegu, Daejeon, Inchon, Kangwon, Jeonju, Ulsan, Changwon, Gyeongbuk)

    - Traffic Information ·weather/climate 90%, news 5%, campaign 5%, etc. (20 hours of broadcasting per day)
    - 8 hours of programs produced by Main TBN Head Office per day and remaining 12 hours are produced regionally

Results of the 2015 TBN Korea Traffic Broadcasting Operator Customer Survey (research company : World Research Inc.)

Out of a total of 20 hours of broadcasting per day, TBN was ranked first in 18 hours and ranked second in the remaining 2 hours for a combined ranking of Number 2 overall

  • Ranked first during rush hours (07:00-09:00 and 18:00-20:00)
  • Overall Satisfaction Index : 20.5%
  • Satisfaction Index during driving : 71.3%
  • 88.1% of the listeners rated the information provided by TBN as being very accurate
  • 88.2% of the listeners rated the information provided by TBN to be quick and real-time

Traffic Broadcasting Introduction

10 regional FM broadcasting centers (Busan, Kwangju, Daegu, Daejeon, Inchon, Kangwon, Jeonju, Ulsan, Changwon, Gyungbuk) and broadcasting center (Seoul) with 10 relay stations.
